INTERNATIONAL STUDIOS
International Studios Webpage
International studios are an essential part of the College's course offerings, granting architecture and urban planning students the prospect of visiting other countries while gaining access to facilities, groups, and individuals that might otherwise be closed to them. These studios travel not only to the traditional locations of Europe, but to the villages and global cities of the developing world providing students with exciting and unique educational, research, and service opportunities. This summer international studios were held in Bombay, India; Beijing, China; Kumasi, Ghana; Berlin, Germany; and Switzerland. |

UM DETROIT CENTER
TO OPEN IN SEPTEMBER 2005
UM News Service Detroit Center Press Release
The University of Michigan is establishing a new 10,500 square-foot UM Detroit Center on the ground floor of Orchestra Place. When it opens in September 2005, the center will provide a home base for dozens of academic and outreach programs from some 15 of the University's schools and colleges. It will also provide opportunities to increase UM involvement and collaboration with the community. A lead unit in the center, Taubman College is working to establish a community design center within the larger facility, which will be located at Orchestra Place. We value the opportunity to work with Detroit, and look forward to even more collaborations with its citizens, government, community groups, and institutions. |
