Ghana Studio 2005
The 2005 Ghana studio continued to evolve under the guidance of Professor of Architecture James Chaffers and Assistant Professor of Architecture Coleman Jordan. Tapping the Power of African Vernacular: Examining the New/Old Challenge of Design Sustainability through a Fusion of Western and West African Eyes was the thematic guide for studio activities in the city of Bolga Tanga in the far north of Ghana. Studio activity centered on issues of tectonic resourcefulness and design sustainability. The studio took place during May and June 2005.
