JOINT/DUAL DEGREE PROGRAMS
MASTER OF ARCHITECTURE
MASTER OF URBAN PLANNING
ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
To be eligible for admission, a student must have a B.S. degree from the A. Alfred Taubman College of Architecture + Urban Planning or an equivalent degree earned at another institution. Graduate students enrolled in the 3G Option must complete all required 300 and 400 level course work before applying to the dual M.Arch./M.U.P Program. Admission to both programs is normally limited to the fall semester, but winter admission may be considered in special cases. The recommended procedure is to apply to each program for the same term. It is possible, however, to apply to either program once enrollment has taken place in the other. Two complete and separate applications are necessary, one to Taubman College for 3G Option: Master of Architecture and one to the Horace H. Rackham School of Graduate Studies for the Master of Urban Planning Degree. The application fee is required only once if an application is made to each unit for the same term. In this case, the check or money order may be included with either application, but a note regarding disposition of the fee should be attached to the application of the unit not receiving the money. Each program will make an admission decision independently of the other. Only if both programs approve admission is the applicant considered a dual degree student.
