The Spatial Analysis Lab (SAL) in the College of Architecture and Urban Planning provides support for projects focused on the role of the spatial context in design studies and in urban and regional planning. The lab houses state of the art computer facilities equipped with computational tools for handling digital geographic information and the spatial analysis of built form. In addition to a suite of existing tools, lab researchers are developing new computational tools in a broad range of application areas. The lab provides a locus for research exploration and application of the theories, methodologies, and technologies of spatial analysis.
