NORTHBOUND BEAL TO CLOSE THROUGH SUMMER
Northbound vehicle traffic on Beal Avenue between Bonisteel Boulevard and Hayward Avenue is scheduled to be closed Monday (Dec. 4) through Summer 2007. The southbound vehicle lane will be shifted to the east side of the road. Traffic, including U-M buses, will be detoured west on Bonisteel, north on Murfin and east on Hayward. Detour signs will be posted.
These lane adjustments are necessary to promote vehicle and pedestrian safety by reducing vehicle traffic through the Solid State Electronics Laboratory construction project. Drivers traveling southbound are urged to slow down and use caution in the area.

NINE PARKING SPACES TO CLOSE ON ROOF OF ANN STREET PARKING STRUCTURE
Nine parking spaces on the roof of the Ann Street Parking Structure (M86) are scheduled to be closed tomorrow (Dec. 1) through March 31. The closed area will provide a location for the snow melter equipment that is used during snow removal.
CATHERINE STREET STRUCTURE RENOVATION CONTINUES
The repairs in the Catherine Street parking structure now have moved to levels three and four. Up to 80 random spaces will be closed at a time to provide safe clearance for the repair activity. Flagpersons will be present in the structure to assist with traffic flow during morning and afternoon rush hour. This upper level work was scheduled for spring but was able to be performed at the conclusion of the work in the lower level due to cooperative weather. The renovations in the structure are scheduled to be completed by the end of December.

URGENT -- Parking Issues on U-M Campus Tuesday
Due to the Memorial Service Tuesday (Nov. 21) at Michigan Stadium for Bo Schembechler that is open to the public, the following Central/South Campus parking and transportation alterations will be in place:
n all staff who park personal or UM vehicles in the lots surrounding Michigan Stadium (SC2, SC4, SC5, SC6, SC7, SC35 and SC36) are asked to park in an alternate location Tuesday; (This should be considered similar to a football game.)
n parking enforcement will be waived and gates will be raised at the Thompson Street (W3), Fletcher Street (N13) and Palmer Drive (N26) parking structures to accommodate Orange and Yellow staff permit holders from the Crisler/Stadium lots;
n parking enforcement will be waived at the surface lots on Thompson Street (W18) and the band practice lot at Elbel Field off Hill Street to accommodate Orange and Yellow staff permit holders from the Crisler/Stadium lots;
n additional U-M transit buses will be added to the Commuter route before and after the service; therefore, staff planning to attend the memorial service are encouraged to leave their vehicles parked on other areas of campus and ride the bus to the service.
n Staff members also are encouraged to car pool. Consider parking at Wolverine Tower (SC17) or the State Street Commuter Lot (SC34) and car pool or ride the AATA bus to campus.

We appreciate your understanding and cooperation during this challenging time for the Schembechler family, the Athletic Department and the University community.
