Redeveloping the American City: Detroit and Beyond
The fourth in our series of five campaign themes, Portico 2005/2 features the American metropolis, especially the city of Detroit.

Without Detroit, the University of Michigan would not have grown into the great university it is today. This issue details faculty, student, and alumni projects in Detroit that serve to further strengthen a bond started in 1817 at UM's founding in the city.

And with the opening of the new UM Detroit Center in September, that bond grows even stronger as we continue to contribute to Detroit's ongoing transformation.
