Large (Old) Hermitage and Hermitage Theater
The Large (or Great or Old) Hermitage, by Iurii M. Velten, 1771–87.

The amphitheater-style auditorium of the Hermitage Theater was designed by Giacomo Quarenghi, 1783–86. Behind the seats of the amphitheater is a semi-circular decorative wall with columns and niches with statues of the Muses. The columns and walls are faced with scagliola (imitation marble), the statues of plaster.
