The Summer Palace
The Summer Palace was designed by Domenico Trezzini, 1710–14. Catherine I (second wife of Peter the Great) was crowned in the throne room in a special ceremony in 1724 while Peter was still alive. She ruled for two years after Peter's death in 1725.
