Learning from national and international travel
The Master of Urban Design Program believes that experiencing urbanism at a variety of scales is fundamental to learning and practice.
Consequently, faculty and students visit cities and towns across the country as part of studios and seminars to help sustain research into an array of urban morphologies. Because sprawl is an increasingly important global issue, suburbs and low- and medium-density cities are included among Program trips. Recently visited cities and towns include:
- Berkeley, CA
- Chautauqua, NY
- Chicago, IL
- Cleveland, OH
- Cranbrook, MI
- Detroit, MI
- Eastern Ohio farm towns
- Lake Forest, IL
- Los Angeles, CA
- Marin County, CA
- New York City, NY
- Oak Park, IL
- Palo Alto, CA
- Pescadero, CA
- Portland, OR
- Pullman, IL
- Riverside, IL
- San Francisco, CA
- San Jose, CA
