Faculty and Students Represent Michigan Planning at 2007 ACSP Conference
The Association of Collegiate Schools of Planning's has included a number of TCAUP faculty and students as presenters, moderators, and panelists at its 48th annual conference. The four-day event, held October 18-21, 2007 in Milwaukee, is titled "Building Ladders to the Middle Class: Planning for Equitable and Sustainable Prosperity" and focused on "opening a conversation about the ways in which planners can (and do) shape the choices available to households and influence the choices that households make."
TCAUP faculty participating include Scott Campbell, Margaret Dewar, Robert Fishman, Joe Grengs, Elsie Harper-Anderson, Larissa Larsen, Jonathan Levine, Richard Norton, and Gavin Shatkin. TCAUP students include Carlton Basmajian, Nina David, Malo Hutson, Charles Kaylor, Louna Khirfan, Carolyn Loh, Neha Sami, Daniel Spiess, Sanjeev Vidyarthi, and Xiaoguang Wang. The ACSP is a consortium of university-based programs offering credentials in urban and regional planning. Acting together, the ACSP member school faculty are able to express their shared commitments to understanding the dynamics of urban and regional development, enhancing planning practices, and improving the education of both novice and experienced planners.
